The British CBT & Counselling Service

Welcome to The British CBT & Counselling Service

We are Doctors of Clinical Psychology and Counselling Psychologists specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for adults and children experiencing a range of problems.

Our Doctors of Psychology are carefully hand-selected, have trained in the UK’s leading counselling institutions. They have a minimum of 7 years experience and must also have practised in the NHS so that they have dealt with a much wider array of problems than those who have only practised privately.

The British CBT & Counselling Service

Dr Francesca Palmieri

Chartered Counselling Psychologist
I am very empathetic and care about my work. I am passionate about helping others. I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to listen, enter people’s life and share the things they feel comfortable with and help them to reach a more fulfilling and optimal stage in their life. Being a psychologist has always just felt like what I should be doing. I believe that people need to have the freedom and emotional acceptance to fully express themselves to reach their full potential.

Dr Nicholas Sarantakis

Counselling Psychologist
Practising from an integrative perspective means for me that while CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and person-centred therapy form the ground of my approach, I will often suggest and discuss with you interventions and tasks that derive from psychodynamic, existential psychotherapy and more experiential paradigms, such as Emotion-focused therapy.

Olga Konstantinidou

Chartered Clinical Psychologist
The therapeutic space I provide allows you to feel comfortable and safe enough to share your feelings and your worries. A non judgmental, confidential space, where you can reflect and find the support you are looking for. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. However, I generally tend to use a number of different modalities to inform my assessment and treatment approach.

Dr Kathy Chapman

Clinical Psychologist
I have 25 years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist. I offer support with managing emotions, building self-confidence and adapting to significant life change. I draw on a range of approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based approaches and solution-focused therapy. I will work collaboratively with you, exploring your desired outcome and goals and discussing possible psychological approaches.

Elena Bonsignore

Counselling Psychologist
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 22 years’ experience. I’ve helped people presenting with many different difficulties from depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, work stress, obsessive thoughts and dependencies, to name but a few. My training as a Counselling Psychologist has helped me to combine evidence-based approaches with a solid therapeutic alliance with patients. My approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy.

Dr Anna Lose

Chartered Clinical Psychologist
As a clinician, I take an empathic and compassionate approach, whilst at the same time helping you to find ways of challenging yourself on the road to self-improvement. When I say self-improvement, I mean you improving your ability to nurture yourself, utilising more helpful thoughts and actions.

Dr Jade Ambridge

Clinical Psychologist
I feel strongly about the importance of the relationship between therapist and client, and using this to create a safe reflective space which can enable change. I work in a collaborative, non-judgmental way, and believe that while I have training and resources, the client is the expert in their own experiences, so we can come together to overcome problems and build resilience. I want to help people rediscover what they value from life, and help them to take steps to thrive, and not just survive.

Ian Wootton

Clinical Psychologist
I want to offer something different: something for those people whose needs are often left unmet, or who may have struggled to find ‘the right treatment’ in the past. I want to help people to flexibly respond to what life throws at them, to help them to embrace the often-difficult feedback that their environment provides, to be able to share and express their feelings, views and opinions, and, most of all, to connect with those around them so that they feel a sense of belonging.

Dr Jen Bateman

Clinical Psychologist
I’m Jen and I’m looking forward to meeting you. I’m a warm and empathic psychologist, providing a space where you will be heard and supported. I’ve experienced my own times of emotional distress, so I understand it takes courage to reach out for help. I will see your potential and hold this vision for you throughout our therapeutic journey together.

Dr Faidra Grammenou

Chartered Counselling Psychologist
I believe that therapy should enable the creation of a safe space in order to facilitate one’s therapeutic journey. People often seek therapy when feeling stuck in some aspect of life and this can sometimes make one feel very vulnerable, evoking all kinds of difficult emotions like shame, fear, anger and more. I will help you understand such feelings and the obstacles in your path in a warm, supportive non judgmental way.

Dr Elena Makovac

Clinical Psychologist
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society. In my therapeutic sessions, I adopt a mindfulness based cognitive-behavioural approach, with specific focus of Acceptance and Commitment techniques (ACT). ACT therapy has received great evidence-based support in recent years in alleviating different types of psychological distress (stress, anxiety, depression etc.) but also for alleviating suffering in chronic pain patients.

Dr Gabriela Jones

Counselling Psychologist
My approach to therapy can be described as direct and straight forward with the aim to accommodate my client’s needs. I use various models and always adapt my approach to suit the client. Some of the approaches I use are: Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR; Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT); Gestalt techniques; Transactional analysis ; Mindfulness and relaxation;Solution focused therapy; Person centred counselling; Positive psychology; Motivational interviewing

Siobhan Quinn

Chartered Counselling Psychologist
The main psychological approach I use is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). However, I am experienced in a number of approaches which I weave in based on the needs of the client. These include; Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Dr AB Sirin Ayva

Counselling Psychologist
For me, each individual has a unique journey to explore, appreciate and celebrate. I am passionate about getting to know new people, listening to them and their unique stories. I describe my role as a fresh pair of eyes with theoretical knowledge and a compassionate soul to join you on this unique journey of healing.

Jade Maddocks

Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor
During therapy I allow you to explore your world as you know it consciously. My role as your counsellor, is not to try to interpret what I believe you are going through. Instead, I will view your world completely through your perspective and will sit alongside you as you begin to understand yourself on a whole new level.

Anne-Marie Jervis-Read

Chartered Clinical Psychologist
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I trained at the prestigious Institute of Psychiatry and have 30 years’ experience in the NHS and in private practice.

Dr Gul Eryuksel

Chartered Clinical Psychologist
I have been studying human behaviour for more than 30 years and it still fascinates me as much as in my first days as a psychology student. I’ve trained in several therapy models including CBT, Person Centred, Behavioural, Cognitive and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy models and have specialities in Systemic Family Therapy. I am an eclectic Psychologist using various models and techniques according to my clients’ needs.

Dr Jessica Roberts

Clinical Psychologist
I’ve helped people from all age groups and from varied and diverse backgrounds with a wide range of different issues and problems. Whilst, my main clinical modalities include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy and elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) , I do not believe in the one size fits all therapy style. Rather, I like to take a very integrative approach ensuring I tailor the therapy and support to the needs of the client.

Dr Viviana Meloni

Chartered Principal Counselling Psychologist
During this unprecedented time of uncertainty and isolation, fear and anxiety can easily prevail overall on every aspect of your life and what yesterday appeared to be transparent and crystalline, today seems to be unsure and unknown. I provide you with a non-judgmental and confidential therapeutic space to deal with a range of psychological needs potentially exacerbated now by living through COVID 19.

Fahima Hussain

Therapeutic Counsellor
I am an empathic, diligent, and organised professional with extensive knowledge of offering support to individuals presenting with everyday life issues to common mental health matters. With six years of developing experience combined in work and academia, I have gained the requisite skills and insights to engage with, as well as assist persons of all backgrounds, including matters of anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and trauma.

Nicola Demetriou

Integrative Counsellor
I work with people who have depression, anxiety, bereavement, work stress, abuse, self-esteem and relationship difficulties. I am passionate in helping you to feel more fulfilled and understand more about yourself.

Hanah Richardson

Humanistic Counsellor
My clients often come to counselling when their way of being in the world is breaking down. They may want support in alleviating their distress and new ways to move forward, or to understand why they feel anxious, angry, depressed or alone.

Dr Dominic Addison

Chartered Counselling Psychologist
The fascination with the mind which had me studying psychology 25 years ago has only deepened over the years. It is a privilege to work in a therapeutic space; an office defined by a spirit of respect, open inquiry, and understanding. Our inner lives are endlessly fascinating, and helping people navigate their way through distress and confusion is quite a reward.

Beverley Marais

Chartered Counselling Psychologist
I have experienced personal therapy throughout my training as a counselling psychologist and psychotherapist. As a result, I have had the fortunate experience of being a client and witnessed the empowering impact of change within a therapeutic relationship. I am often humbled by the human condition and feel honoured to be invited to support a clients’ courageous journey from the unknown to the known, and from disempowered to empowered.
